SS2022 COLLECTION

SS2022 collection titled “Orchids In The Concrete Jungle” is inspired on the beauty, variety and resilience of Colombian orchids. Colombia is blessed with the largest variety of Orchids in the world approximately 4,500 different species. The Orchids, as a beauty subject in this collection, is framed within a city concept, particularly New York City. My intention was to nuance the collection with the colors and figures that orchids give. The colors: yellow, pink, purple, sky blue, apple green, magenta and the intriguing shapes they take to attract their various pollinators.

I chose the orchid because for me it represents a revolutionary and wild femininity but at the same time it is tender and fragile – it is a parallel very similar to that of the New Yorkers, who are empowered, love freedom in every way and just like the orchid which preserves its wildlife to exist.
